Quirky Italian imports, Late Guest at the Party…

Quirky Italian imports, Late Guest at the Party, exemplify the phrase better late than never as they proudly release their latest single and first in the US,“You Make Me Nervous” on Reynolds Recording Co.

The new single is a unique, indie party anthem paired with an unusual music video complete with a sexy chicken in a onesie making everybody nervous. The video premiered yesterday on FilterMagazine.com along with a free MP3 download. The song is energetic and absorbing, the listener will instantly get sucked into a whirlwind of blithe, upbeat sound. The music video is symbolic of the LGATP’s mindset; they are embracing the weird, the awkward, and the nerve-racking all in the name of having a good time. The video is intriguing and will have viewers wistfully watching and wishing they could join the party. ...Read More...Read Less

LGATP’s first album *Come Back Bobby Peru* was released in May 2009 in Italy and earned them more air time on the BBC as well as raves from Rolling Stone (Italy). Even some obscure indie radio stations in New York started playing their tunes. Due to the growing excitement surrounding LGATP, the band will be relocating to NYC later this year. With some new Stateside friends including Randy Shrager of Sissor Sisters and Slam Donahue (who they have been collaborating with for their next album), they are ready to take on the discerning New York crowd by storm. “You Make Me Nervous” is just a small taste of the highly anticipated new
album.

Dear friends of American Princes,
We’re very…

Dear friends of American Princes,

We’re very excited to announce the release of our self-titled EP on Reynolds Records. These five songs are the band’s last studio recordings, done in the summer of 2009 with Chuck Brody, who also produced 2008’s “Other People.” Originally, the songs were meant to be our first foray into a new album, but after Luke, our bassist, became ill, we realized that these may very likely be our last songs.

We feel that the eclecticism of the material hints at what might have been our best album yet. With Collins’ Kinks-meets-Velvet-Underground, sun drenched delivery on “Waiting for the Man to Come,” Will’s crisp slice of power pop on “Your Body,” and David’s icy anxiety on “Rock n’ Roll,” this EP shows how we had broadened our conception of what our own brand of rock could be.

You can go to iTunes now to preview and pre-order the American Princes EP, or buy it today exclusively on the Reynolds Records website one week early. www.reynoldsrecco.com/store. It’ll be available for purchase on iTunes and all other digital retail sites, July 19th. We think you’ll enjoy the record as much as we enjoyed making it, and we thank you all for your support.

Yours, as always,

Don’t be fooled by the veneer of trashy gu…

Don’t be fooled by the veneer of trashy guitars and stoopid pop hooks that Shitake Monkey have constructed on their debut album. Beneath the surface goofiness (sample song titles: “Come On,” “Turn It Up,” “Here’s a Song”), there’s a real musical intelligence at work — and even if that intelligence is sometimes sacrificed for the sake of a dumb joke or two, it’s still...Read More...Read Less

there to be found beneath the trash-pop surface of almost every song. Notice, for example, how good the falsetto singing is on “Maybe Lady,” and how beautifully constructed the hook is on the deceptively simple-sounding “Those Days.” Also notice the excellent harmony singing on the funky “Come On,” and the fact that “Mad Monkey” is much more complex than it sounds at first listen — for one thing, it’s a reggae song, which you won’t notice unless you listen very carefully to its rhythmic structure. The numbers that fall flat — notably “N’ere Pie Fire” (which sounds like a demo) and “Here’s a Song” (which sounds like an in-joke) — are mostly brief and easy enough to skip over. But just about everything else starts out sounding like a trifle and ends up sounding like something much more. That’s pretty impressive for a first album.
